Swim Team Practice & Meet Equipment List
In order for swimmer to get the most of our program and their practices we have the following equipment list that will be needed in each practice and at all locations. Below is the equipment list with links to our team's online shopping cart to order each item. All orders will need to be placed through our team's online store in order to receive our team discount from D & J Sports. You order will not be finalized until a Sales Rep calls you for your credit card info. All order will be shipped directly to your home not to the YMCA.
Equipment Needed for Practices: Team Online Store
Goggles - Swimmers who can not see can not perform turns well.
Vanquisher Goggles - Great for older Swimmers (10 ands Up)
Vanquisher Plus Mirrored Goggles - Great for older Swimmers (10 ands Up)
Youth Flexframe TYR - Great for younger Swimmers (9 and Under)
Youth Flexframe Metallized Goggle TYR - Great for younger Swimmers (9 and Under)
Positive Drive Training Fins - The PDF was created to improve kick technique and power. Foot pocket is shaped like your foot for fit and comfort. Promotes natural supination cycle in your kick. Color coordinated by size. (Write name on them with black marker)
FINIS Sr & Jr Swimmer's Snorkel - The Finis Swimmer's Snorkel allows swimmers to concentrate on body balance, head position and stroke technique by eliminating the breathing cycle rotation. Regular snorkel training increases the capacity of the lungs to expel air, required for optimal intake of oxygen, and increases CO2 tolerance and VO2 max. The Finis Swimmer's Snorkel has a patented front-mount design that allows you to wear it with any swimming goggle.
Catalyst Paddles - Helps improve stroke technique while building strength. Patented keyhole design more evenly distributes pressure while improving water `feel` & reducing shoulder stress. Lightweight, injection molded, UV resistant polyproplene. Color coded by size.
Pull Buoy - Helps swimmers keep proper body position during pulling sets.
Practice swim Suits - Swimmers needs at least 2 practice suits for practices.
Male Jammer Speedo/TYR/Nike Practice Suits - These are brand new Lycra competitive swim suits. You pick the size and we pick
the suit. These suits have been discontinued from last season, so there are no
pictures.
Female Speedo/TYR/Nike Practice Suit - These are brand new Lycra competitive swim suits. You pick the size and we pick
the suit. These suits have been discontinued from last season, so there are no
pictures.
Practice Caps - Any swimmer who has longer hair may choose to wear a cap in practice.
Team Caps - All Piranhas are given a free latex official Pocono Family YMCA Swim Team cap every season.
Solid Wrinkle Free Silicone Cap - Round Wrinkle-free design for better fit and reduced drag. Non- Splinterior, tear resistant and easy to put on.
Additional Items needed for practice
Swim Stuff Mesh Bag - (Optional) 18" x 30" Nylon mesh bag with nylon cord. Quick drying and durable. Soft mesh won`t scratch.
Towels - 1-2 towels
Water Bottle - All swimmers need to be hydrated. Dehydration hurts athletic performance. Read article about staying hydrated during practice. (Click Here)

Aquablade Male Jammer - Official Aquablade team color is black. (Aquablade is an optional suit upgrade. Material is tighter and less resistant to drag.
Aquablade Female Recordbreaker - Official Aquablade team color is black. (Aquablade is an optional suit upgrade. Material is tighter and less resistant to drag.
Team Caps - Any swimmer who has longer hair may choose to wear a cap in practice.
Team Caps - All Piranhas are given a free latex official Pocono Family YMCA Swim Team cap every season. All members are required to wear a team cap if the wish to wear a cap. No swimmer will be allowed to wear a non-team cap in a PFY Swim meet or any meet PFY swimmers attend as a team.
